Not everyone is a car builder. Some of us are chefs, IT guys, web developers, contractors, investors, etc. Just because you like hot rods does not mean that you have to build your own.

I just want to know the threshold of what's "built" lol? If I did the front suspension and brakes, some interior work (like dash panel, seats etc) and built the motor is that built? But I paid a shop when I ran out of "time" to install the engine/tranny and rear suspension? Wonder if I sourced and picked every single part and planned it? So I'm not sure which side I should take in this ...

IM an IT guy, I build some of it.. and a man needs to know his limitations I taught myself to weld, do some basic stuff, DSW firewall, small rust repairs, but my DSE quarlink and mini tubs I leave up to the pro's(cough cough vince) I do all my own wiring, all my own reassembly.. Im not sure.. where I stand.. I just know my limitations..

BTW Corey -- the BOUGHT '33 was driven to Texas from California and from Idaho to Bowling Green Kentucky last year (2015). Nobody gives a damn except me.
I can see why you paid somebody for the second one.

I've built and bought. My built car I've had for 20 years and probably won't go anywhere until I'm gone. I've had a few cars built for me and i really don't enjoy them. My last bought car is my favourite car I've ever owned, i have it insured year round, i drive the piss out of it. I personally feel it's a silly argument. When someone says built not bought i wonder how they fit a machine shop and foundry in their garage. Do what makes you happy and don't worry what makes someone else and how your enjoyment is better than theirs.
