Well the first run group had 55 drivers that all ran 5 times so let's assume 30 seconds a run. That is 2 hours and 17 minutes. So my 2 ½ hour working the cones was a close estimate but it felt longer.

Undeterred my buddy talked me into trying the Corvette club AutoX in a couple weekend. He said they run a better program. So if you don't like brussels sprouts try lima beans.

I'm also doing an AutoX at the LS Fest next weekend. Good practice for Optima because they have the stop box deal.

Looks like the AutoXs you do out West are better than our stuff here in MI.

Yes, our autocrosses are pretty fast and some are third-gear courses. Very fun. You'll probably like the Corvette event a lot better if they set up their courses for that type of car.

Hate those stop boxes ... and lima beans, too.

Cheers,
Mary

Yea I've been out to a couple of Sacramento Autocrosses at Mather Airport, and I've never seen them run a course smaller then a minute. Even for some of the fastest cars like CP class. The course is also pretty large for autox standards, and they see some third gear action. They go pretty fast.

Too bad my car broke down there. But, Mike's Elco was a lot of fun.

But I have the October issue right next to me, and that ain't the cover. Maybe they are mocking up next month's cover and failed to change that part of it.

Mark,

I read over on pt.com that you have done some interesting things with the fuel tank on this car. I've read the whole thread here and haven't found anything, sorry if I missed it.

Could you elaborate on the makings of the fuel tank and fuel pump on this car? I'm in the process of figuring out what to do on my 69.

Beautiful workmanship on the car!

Thank You,
Erik

I believe this is the thread that Mark started to hash out all of the fuel tank issues.
