It was a large track but a pretty touch layout with the slalom at the end getting progressively narrower. Of course I would prefer an aluminum block but that's 5k. Then I might as well go 540, mechanical cam, blah blah blah. The motor I have is so strong I won't mess with it unless absolutely neccesary. The race wheels and tires I have on order should make a huge difference by narrowing the stagger gap, lowering the rotating mass, and adding much more grip. The car really handles well on the road. That being my first autocross with street tires, I feel with my tweaks and becoming a better driver I can be very competitive with my big block. Keep in mind that I have aluminum heads, radiator, hinges, all my resorvoirs, battery in the trunk.etc. So it's like having a small block up there. In fact I am running small block springs with no coil bind. That being said if I do grenade the motor it will be hard not to go to an aluminum Dart block. My favorite is still a aluminum big block with a hogan intake. But that means atleast 10k and I have to much money in this car already.
