Mine is also homebuilt, the paint was done in 1993 by a former owner and is still in pretty good shape. However the front fenders need to be replaced, all is still original bodymetal but some rust has started to show up in the fenders.

The conversion to ProTouring has been done over the years, work over the winter and drive in the summer. Machinework has been hired but everything else is done by me.

Garage built by my dad and I, we did everything but the interior. I am still spending tons of money on it 9 years later

Do almost everything myself. I built most of my Firebird in this garage rented from a neighbor. Good thing I'm a thin guy! There's not a lot of room in there. Had to get car up against wall to do bodywork on one side then turn car around to do the other side.Ran extension cord from my house for power and long air hose from my basement compressor to the garage. Painted it in the dirt driveway before it was graveled. Probably the only magazine cover car painted outside on dirt in a long long time! Machine work done by shop, exhaust tubing bent by shop. All suspension, bodywork, Paint, windows, engine, interior, elec etc done by me. On my current Malibu project I've done most of the bodywork in the parking lot at work after hours with just hand tools. I need a real shop or less cars to free up garage space to work in !

It is Cortez Silver, in silver paint the lights can give you a lot of cool effects like in that picture. BTW the IKEA in the background is the first one they started with.

Here are some other pictures showing the color of the car better.

my car has been 100% in shop so far. I will be getting help from a local mechanic with the engine and transmission. Interior and paint will also be done at home. Oh, I did have rhino-liner sprayed on the underbody, out of shop.
