Wow, just now found this, I presume you're the one we talked trucks with for a while? Thanks for the kind words, I guess I could update this once in a while

We've been focused on Drag Week since we got the car rolling, so it hasn't seen much time in the twisties yet. I'm thinking it'll find a set of Hoosier or Kumho slicks soon after September, I'm itching to get it a little sideways.

It's all together, interior is pretty much finished up, here's a few pics and videos to sum up the last 7 months or so -

Got it all legal, put some street miles on it

Recall is fun, I love the Racepak

Pulled the motor to look over everything and change out the clutch

Took it back to the track, GRENADED said new clutch

Threw some carpet in it a few weeks ago

After a few months of frustration, it finally earned a name

And, got our Drag Week trailer setup all sorted out last weekend

Everything's pretty much set, just gotta get as many passes on it between now and then as we can to get it dialed in and get our routine down. Best so far was back in March, 7.26 in the 1/8th. We'll be going to Ennis in a few weeks to see what it's got in the 1/4.

And, finally, a few videos...

Looks like that scatter shield was the BEST money spent. I read thru the posts and saw the DFX clutch, said to myself 'that wont last long' which one was the one that shattered?

I can definitely thank Lakewood for at least my right foot..and probably my left too. The DFX is actually back in it now, and seems to be holding up pretty well. We pulled it, thinking it was cooked, but figured out it had some preload on the throwout bearing. We tossed it back in after the second one let go just to see if it would hold up and it's going like a champ so far. It's going to get a lot more testing before we haul off to Indiana, though.

The one that blew up was from a local shop we were recommended to. It was a stock style Borg & Beck pressure plate, and lasted 2 and a half passes, launched it at about 6k in 2nd gear Got our money back on it, but it ruined the Fidanza aluminum flywheel in the process. Live and learn..

It actually didn't even really phase me, it just made a little pop and sounded like a bunch of gravel rattling around under the floor. I was more confused than anything else, then when I pushed in the clutch and the pedal stayed on the floor I put two and two together

Had a good Friday night, it likes 4.86's a LOT

Awesome pics from texpic.net

And some videos..

Best so far, would have been a 6 with decent air, I think

Carried the wheels a bit on this one, launched at 5800. Giddy laughter followed for the next hour or so..

It went 7.33, 7.86, 7.33, 7.23, 7.35, and 7.31..the thing's a bracket car when I have all my crap together

Got some 1/4 mile passes with it back a few weeks ago, drove it to Texas Motorplex (~130 miles, trailer in tow), made 5 passes, and drove back home, trouble free.

Best launch of the night

And best ET - 11.36 at 121

I decided I'd work on a few little projects this weekend, then we got it tucked away and ready for the haul to Indiana Friday (ahhhhhh, finally almost time..)

I'll be posting updates to our website each day during Drag Week - http://www.acmeautopartsonline.com/blog

One thing that's bugged me the last few months is not having the lower grill, and not wanting to spend the money on a repro one that I'm not sure would fit in there with the way things are kind of deflected down there. So begins the cheap ass kinda hokey lower grill project..

Step one, hack it down to the appropriate height with the bandsaw..

Scotch Brite, Trim Black..

Shoot a few screws in the top and it's..well, better than it was..

Gave it a quick wash and a blast down the road to make sure everything's still kosher, and it's time to put it to bed..

The little trailer fits like a glove behind it

Well, we survived, finally made it back to Texas in one piece Sunday afternoon.

Final count, 1750 miles pulling the car with the truck, 1200 miles driving the car track to track, 21 passes on the car shifting at 7,400 every gear, and no major problems except changing the water pump in Michigan after it started pushing grease out of the front bearing. Not a bad week, I don't think.

We ended up finishing with the 5th quickest average in Daily Driver, 11.20. Got our 10 on the second pass Friday, and managed to make it to the third round of the daily driver bracket race before the brain took over and I red lit against the guy who won overall, so I was pretty pleased with that too.

Some pretty cool shots from 1320video -

Our mongoloid mismatched wheel setup on the street

Function > Form

And my favorites..

Took care of our first 6 and first 10 in one shot. I was on the tree fairly well by Friday, too.

Two of the better passes -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFTs3sFz4bo - Day 3 at Norwalk, wheels up launch, still on 93 and plugs loaded up from the 180 mile drive that morning

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ltYV74tVhk - Day 5 at Muncie, 10.99 at 124 on 100 octane
