Seriously Doug, that's a first hand example of how the know-it-all-disease is epidemic. These clueless fertilizer spreaders only contribution to the betterment of others comes when they leave.

I have been taking my 8 year old to shows, and it has been a good way for me to learn better manners....as I tell him, somebody loves that car, and is very proud of it. We have no right to say anything about it, whether or not it is done to our taste. I remember being 17, and having my car get ripped by someone at a show, who obviously didn't know it was mine. I looked 12, so maybe he thought it was my dad's or something, but it hurt a lot at the time. I try to keep that in mind when Roy and I are walking around a show.
One other possibility, maybe the guy was pointing out to his buddy just how bad the gaps on those cars were when they were new?

I don't mind people talking about what they would have done differently to my car because we all have different tastes and priorities. I think it's important how you say things "Those look like sh*t " vs "I would swap those out for these..." ....or not say anything at all

What bugged me the most at a show was asking some folks a question about their old Challenger and they went off bragging about every show it's won and how they are soooo bored with car shows. "I think I'm just going to park it in the backyard and let it rot. I'd have to paint it a different color to go back to X show and compete again because it already won." I said, so why don't you drive the hell out of it or race it? I didn't really get a clear response to that.

I'm all about the drive to the car show and then hanging out with friends.

Hey Doug, don't sweat the small stuff from the oxygen deprived show clowns bud.....
When idiots like these show car lot lizards make comments like that,,,, just take solace in the fact that they've likely never worn "the Pink Hat" or "Spun out the Rent-a-Wreck" (inside joke)....

Hell dude your ride is something most people dream of owning one day,,,let alone driving it the way you do ........

Hand the Lot Lizards a buffing towel and tell them when they finish buffing the paint off the trunk of their car,,,,, try using it to cry on when their perfect ride just won't start to put it on the trailer,,,,, Oh wait that's right they forgot the engine oil option in their perfect restoration/show car...

You know something man, you just have a way with words. "Lot Lizards"--LOL--I have only heard that used at the Drag racing events--and it's been awhile--LOL. I sure hope you are going to surprise us this Friday and show up at JCG's for some BBQ and a run up the coast to Pleasanton. I'll try calling you tomorrow after my board meeting (sucks).

Default Try dealing with most Vette guys...they are total dicks!

I have a 92 Corvette Convertible with a 6 spd that I just finished resomodding, and a 67 Impala fastback I'm putting a 502 in.

Anyway, I hate going to Vette shows and being around vette people!
Most comments are , "thats not a fast a new ZO6" or "Thats not as valuable as a 67 with a 427". NO ****! is my usual reply! A friend of mine has become so critical and judgemental I don't have him over to the garage anymore...He wants to spend MY money like its going out of style! LOL

I wish people would jus live by the old addage...If you don't have something nice to say...shut the hell up!!!

My 67 Impala is already getting critiqued!!!
"should have put in a ls1, 6sp, fuel injection, " etc.etc.etc!

Build it the way you like it and within your budget! And enjoy it!

Reggie Jackson once said..."the only person I have to impress is...ME!"
I love that saying!

Don't sweat it Doug...you have a killer car! As you know, the 'driving' events are way more fun anyways!
