Some sweet numbers right there for sure! I like the set up for the power in the back and the power for the fuel power and sender, slick idea. Nice work.

Default Engine and Headers test fit

Ok for some more updates; Still plugging away at this thing. Couple issues have arose first around engine fitment. I knew the dry sump was going to be close but until I could get it in I didn’t know which way. I’m using the DSE subframe with the 1 ½” offset motor mounts and when I reviewed and checked my dimensions with Bill at Dailey I knew it was going to be tight……well it turned out be about ½” too tight so we had to modify the subframe.
Dry Sump clearance

Here’s the results,….had to modify the motor mount and move the nut plate to accommodate along with a “notch” to fit the pump and pan.

Headers
Also grabbed some headers on line….2” Lemons. I spoke with Dan at lemons and he assured me that they we’re built to fit the DSE subframe and they do “kinda”. I believe they would’ve fit just fine if I didn’t have the 1 ½” offset motor mounts. Very slight rub on the passenger side, probably 1/8” at the most. I’ll notch the a-arm perch to fit it, but nothing major. Really happy with the way they fit regarding ground clearance and engine compartment

Very happy with the ground clearance……

Default More Electrical....work

Firewall Plugs;
Ran into Murphy’s law regarding the wiring…….but I’m glad I noticed it now. I’m going to have to move the ECU Harness plug on the right to the left side….with the backshell on the plug it will hit my oil pressure sender….

Down Bars:
Bent and mocked up some down bars….you can see I tried to move the front mount position as far forward and possible, a better moment arm to absorb some deflection. Wasn’t going to install them at all but I did notice some deflection when I was jacking up the car therefore I went for it…

Making Progress with the wiring and incorporating the ISIS (Infinity Box) system and the HP Holley Harness. Tail/Brakes lights are done along with the entire fuel system. I’m also slowly modifying the entire Holley harness (didn’t plan on it but its happening, ugh scope creep). But there’s several things the Infinity Box can handle much cleaner thus making the ECU harness easier….i’m also making my own schematics as a go so its taking some time in finalizing… just one example the main harness comes with a relay and fuse for the fuel pump and to power the injectors and coils. I was able to eliminate the entire relay by utilizing the Infinity system to drive those functions. I’m also running my fans through the Infinity box…nothing real fancy like PWM but I’ll have two outputs from the Holley HP (2 different temp outputs) those outputs will trigger the Infinity box to turn on and off the fans. To handle the sudden spike in amps we’ll have it programed to slow ramp therefore I don’t need to wire additional relays…..

thanks for checking in....
A much more elegant solution would be to drive the fans via PWM. This can be done with the Holley HP and a C6 Corvette fan controller.

Totally agree, and i've read through your post many times.....but I've got to stick to my plan or i'll never finish this project. I've been watching our post regularly and picked up several good points, i just can't start changing again. Although if i find out the "digital event" of turning the fans on and off don't work out for me i'll modify down the road. i've got a goal to get this running in the garage by Christmas time....

Thx for the tips I appreciate it.....

No problem. I was just answering that you yourself posed...LOL

The wiring changes to implement PWM are easy and the benefits are many. I can tell you that with my Cougar, I barely hear the fans in normal driving conditions, while in my GTO the fans are so annoying, cycling ON/OFF at full blast. They make more noise than the exhaust.

ok i'll bite because I think PWM is the way to go....

question, should I control both fans with 1 controller or use two different controllers.....

Your comment about the fan noise made me reconsider my "no change policy".....

My neighbor bought a brand new F150 and when the fan is on you can't hear sh**, not real ideal in my opinion..

There is a lot of info here:

https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=40215

Some pertaining to Holley but mostly to stock ECUs. I recall that someone in that thread said that they used a single controller for dual Spal fans. John Parsons is working on a LS9 Camaro and is using two controllers.

What kind of fans are you using?

I'm using the PRC core support with 2 13" spal fans

Thanks for the info...let me dig into it and see i can make it happen without changing too much....2 steps forward 1 step backwards.....but

the PWM might be the way to go and I'd hate to finish and find out all I can hear is fan noise...unless i run open headers.....
