The only damage so far is when we moving the Body In White Challenger out of the garage and on to the transporter. The 2 x 2 square tubing metal dolly hit the floor and as we dragged it across it gouged the floor. Sooner or later I may get it fixed but I doubt it.

7 Chicago winters and it looks just like we put it down yesterday.

I am very happy with it so far.

Nice. Thanks for the quick response!

How timely. I was just thinking of messaging Tobin to see if I had any options with his parts should I decide to go with a C clip eliminator kit on my 10 bolt. Do you have any pictures or info you can share on the process, Marty?

Thanks

Hi Trey

I know this is going to be hard to believe but these are the only pictures I took.

Info "Only Some"
1. Yank the axles and cut off the end where the "C" clip would attach

2. Press on the new bearings and bracket from Moser

3. Cut Tobin's Caliper Brackets to make it a "C" so it can slide around the axle flange.

4. Machine a couple new Caliber Shims

5. Install caliper - Check clearance and axle end plate

6. Push car onto trailer and say goodbye as Kenny drives away with it.

Now on a side note: I received an email from a gentlemen and he warned me that the Moser ends are designed for only straight line use and could fail. Anyone have any thoughts on this ????

Mind you this car is actually being build to be driven with very limited auto-cross.

Thanks Marty. What you said makes sense. Doesn't sound too hard either.

I sure hope the gentleman is wrong about the C-clip kit. That would suck if not.

from what i've heard from the guy who built my 12 bolt is that there ok for autocross but serious track time/events they have their design limitations.

I didnt use them on mine, i have baer in the rear and am a little concerned about pad knock, but cant do anything till my LS is done

2nd Chance Camaro - Line-X Protective Coatings
2013 06-10 2nd Chance Camaro - Line-X Protective Coatings
www.2ndchancecamaro.com

Good Evening,

Now that the body work is complete Kenny applied the Line-X protective coating to the underside of the car because I plan to keep and
drive this car.

... and yes Kenny is taking pictures again so there will be an immediate downgrade in picture quality so don't try to adjust your screen.

Trey was kind enough to PM me what he's learned so I thought I would share it with everyone.

Strange has a new kit that they are saying is specifically for street applications that uses tapered bearings. Just thought I'd pass the info on since you said someone mentioned the kit was designed to go around corners.
here is the info and thank you Trey

STRANGE C-CLIP ELIMINATOR FOR STREET APPLICATION

http://www.competitionplus.com/drag-...t-application-

Strange Engineering, Morton Grove Illinois, introduces a new style, specifically designed for street and/or strip, c-clip eliminator for most 10 & 12-bolt GM car rear ends equipped with c-clip style axles. In the past, c-clip eliminators for these applications have been designed for drag racing, which use ball bearings. Ball bearing c-clip kits are fine for drag racing, but are prone to leaking and premature failure when used for prolonged street use. Our specially designed c-clip eliminator kit (A1033) utilizes Timken unit (tapered) bearings, which survive severe side loads and constant use.

The Strange A1033 also features two seals per axle shaft, ensuring a completely sealed axle end. Complete axle and c-clip eliminator packages are also available.

No problem. Ron and Jerry were helping me in my thread on building my 10 bolt up and they both passed that info on to me. Figured I better pass it on to you as well since you have the eliminator as well.

Line X looks good. I think that'll be the route I take eventually as well.
