If you ever watched the show Charlie the painter says no mater how nice a car is it will have bondo. They use to put it on with buckets over there.

I have no experience with body work, but isn't it true that a car will always require at least a skim-coat of filler? Obviously there's a difference between this and slapping on buckets like Floyd Cotterpin may have done but...

Jeff you are correct, even the best of the best use some filler. Take a look at Rad Rides by Troy you will see a skim coat of filler used to give it that very straight and flat look. Not saying it can't be done with out filler but the labor involved would be crazy long. As it is now it takes a loooong time to get them that straight.

Mario - I think you have hung out with Marty way to long. This delayed picture posting is not your speed. Your fans have been waiting for week to see Troy join the Elite Sheetmetal guys who pull off what some said was impossible. And your the guy gonna pay the bill for something most people will never notice. If you would have spent all that time and energy on a triple decker spoiler everyone would have noticed that modification.

Now it is possible to not use any bondo, but the metal work required to do that is crazy labor intensive. But the advantage to using the least amount of mudd is the materials shrinkage issue. When you put any materials on they shrink when they dry creating low spots in the paint and if you use a lot of mud in some areas and minor amounts in others you will see it over time. The trick with minimal bondo is to the the car straight from panel to panel so the body man is not having to "cave and pave" each section of the car.

Quit holding out and post some pics for all your fans....
