Hey guys!!
Just letting you know that this project is still in the works. I have had a few set backs.
1) bought a house = less money
2) house projects = less time
3) company I worked for went under so I am unemployed at the moment = even less money, but more time
The good things are I have more tools and space to work on the mustang. I bought a welder(Millermatic 212) which was much needed. I love having my own place it's great!!! After some cutting, grinding and welding I got the mini tubs in and tacked in place. I made a filler piece for the front crossmember of the car and welded that in place. I also cut up the rocker rail support kit I bought from Global West I just need to weld that in next. Things are moving along just very slow haha. Once the Rocker Rail kit and mini tubs are welded in place I should be done with all the fab on the chassis. I had planned to take the car to JCG Restorations & Customs to get the fender widening treatment since they're so damn good at it!!! but those plans are set back since I lost my job  Oh well its just another setback, but I will finish this car. I promise!!

Sorry to hear about you losing your job.. & I am sure you will get your car done.. Just at a slower pace..

Thanks for the support. You will definitely here from me I want you to give these quarters and fenders your special touch
Is it best that I don't weld up the mini tubs?

Do not well them towards the qtr panel side.. Just tack weld to hold position & we will go from their..

Here are some pics of the sub frame notch for the mini tubs. Also some pics of the filler piece I made to box the front crossmember.

Boxed in the sub frame notches I made. I also cut out some pieces to box in the stock shock mount recessed areas.

Could we get another shot-angle of the filler piece you did for the front...I cant really picture it... Lol!!! Guess you like it uh??!!
Seriously, i like it too, love those holes and i would like to know what is used to do them. I saw them here and there on a few cars and especially once used in the A pillars (filling up between cage tube and inner windshield post) but cant remember the car. It looks killer, i would not know where to stop i think....

Haha I got a little trigger happy with the camera!!
I used Dimple Dies to bevel the holes. You drill the holes to whatever size you want and press the dimple dies on to get that cool beveled look. They're expensive if your just doing a few pieces I would go your local Race/Hot Rod shop. They should have them and shouldn't charge much to do it for you.

Great advice on the dimple dies! they are spendy and it's nice to have different size options... but... talk to your hot rod builder, machine shop FIRST... find out what size dies they have and then drill your holes accordingly... they need to be the same size or very close. Nice job on th "stang so far... will definitely watch your progress. thanks for posting.
