As for not keeping up with Mark on the straight ... Marks car is super fast! But I was only suppose to only do one lap so I let out, but decided at the last minute to do one more for the simple fact that I love to chase fast drivers! They make me better. All in all ... people gonna hate on the girl. Boo. But to say one thing ... that was my FIRST time out there! not too bad. Just sayin.

Congrats Mark ... you were killing it out there! Good times.
AND...AND...AND, she was mere feet off the bumper of cars [and drivers] of unknown ability. I can't do that. I just..can't! At the speeds we were going, if someone brakes a micropube early...she would have punted them off the track! Someone needs to make her a carbon fiber jockstrap.

As far as being distracting in my mirror....not much to be seen out the back of a 33 Ford. I typically have to spin the car to see what was behind me.

I think the lingering smoke from the drift truck was a bigger distraction for you in the front straightaway. Talk about not seeing your hand in front of you face!

HAHA!

To corroborate SCEMO's explanation, she was in fact 1.5 to 2 car widths inside Stielow entering T1. At the time, it looked like she moved off-line for a reason, like a better camera shot or something...and then the car looked all funky as soon as she turned in on the tighter radius.

For the rest of the day we were calling it a beige ZR1.

That car and SCEMO were seriously hauling, lap after lap all day long.

Did the ZR1 start off on race tires and them more to treaded tires? Seems to me like it did..

Anyways, I sure couldn't shake it.. then again I'm a hack on the road course

I saw what looked like the ZR1 taking the race wheels off at the end of the day. Not sure if there was another wheel/tire swap prior?

Steph, great job chasing all day. You are bad ass!

I sure hope you got some video of Marks car at the end of the back straight away as it way shooting big flames out the exhaust.

There was a whole group of us watching the speed stop event when Mark was running and we were all distracted each time Mark flew by with flames coming out as he braked hard for the next turn.

I sure cant wait to see the broadcast and any spy videos.
