Want you guys to watch this video of driving lines for Sonoma....

Watch for T3 spin by the Outlaw car - Blue - This corner is a quick flick from T2 left-hander to a little inside off camber right-hander @ T3. I personally LOVE this corner (never can explain things like that -- some corners you just feel you have dialed in - and others you just never own 'em).

At 3:04 ish pay attention to trying to deep drive into T7.... and watch what happens as he tries to brake while turning into it.

Trust me --- this is EXACTLY what happened to me - when I'd come down out of the Carousel (T6) and got a LATE point by just coming into T6 corner worker station... I jammed down a gear (love that Jerico!) unsettling the rear end - WOT quickly to juice it around the guy and then found myself AT the turn -- needing to turn AND brake from a higher entry speed than "normal".... so you straighten it out because there is plenty of tarmac there ------ but now MARBLE CITY! And around you go! Now looking at the headlights of the ahole you just smartly blew by... while his eyes are big as dinner plates... and you're crapping yourself... feeling like the moron rookie (that you are).

highly doubt my car will be ready but its only 10 min from my house.

Any other ford guys going to run at the ASCS for Hot august nights should make the few hour drive after the ASCS race ends friday in Reno.

Weld, Is there anyway you could talk to the shelby club and see if you could get them to turn the other cheek? let some non-fords come and run? and extend an Invite to Bill Howels caravan that will only be a few hours away? Im sure those guys wouldnt mind taking the quick trip down to run their cars at Sonoma before heading back home.

I would try to talk to them - but this is the MINI NATS - which is a big event for the club - and they didn't even used to allow anything other than Mustangs etc for the event. It will be sold out and packed with cars... So I don't think they're going to want to do anything like that.

I don't want to miss this one so I checked registration and it hasn't opened yet. Looks like a great event.

Okay, so I'm there for Saturday.

Or: First!

Yeah, I'm 12...

I will now go and try to figure out what an apex is by August...

Anyone going to Goodguys in Pleasanton on Saturday, or Marina on Sunday? I'm planning to destroy my tires the rest of the way on the 31st and 1st...

If you don't come over and find us and say hello so we can dump on you in person -- I'll hunt you down and take your bearing grease.

I'll be running Goodguys both days even if I don't get to sleep Friday night putting my car back together.

I will make a point of greeting you with a greasy hand, Mr. Weld. I might even let you feel the dents on my car...
