Default Spoiler

I thought the same thing as did my dad. The spoiler is so low profile that once its in paint you'll hardly notice it. It really does complete the rear end. Before it was on there the trunk lid was just too much metal. The spoiler breaks it up very nicely.

I can't really see what's going on with the lower valence, bumper looks great.

I like the thinner bumper too.

Hard to tell but the lower area under the bumper looks like its been smoothed to the body lines with a recess for the license plate.
I see two big openings either side of the license plate area too!

Default Another pic

Glad everyone so far is liking it. The lower area has been smoothed, cut, grinded...the whole bit. If you look at the rear directly on, you'll see that everything flows into eachother. Notice the circle drawn on the body between the lights for the fuel. The bumper is one of my fav. parts of the rear of the car. Jared did a great job on smoothing the sides into the car.

Would it not be simpler to build a Camaro period?

...So, '67 Camaro project with my laying around stuff out of my black 'vert. 468 BB and YSI blower, braked th400, 12 bolt/spool, 35 splines etc. Complete Calvert suspension front and rear. 30x13.5 ET Streets, caged, lightened, slammed and running low 9's "Street car"

I agree I love troys work but if you want a camaro build one! the nova has such a great looking assend as it is, But can enjoy custom cars as much if not more than the rest ecs if you have seen mine, But i 'll wait and pass judgement when its done becasue Troys always seems to amaze!

But thats not the car my dad had when he was in his 20s! Besides we wanted to have something that chevy would have made had they really sat down and thought about some of the design of the nova. I mean looking at how the original rear lights looked, to me it was a quick throw together on GMs part. Not a really thought out design.

Not that I don't like Camaros, but they are extremely common. I've always loved Novas, that's why I'm building one as well. I'm glad Derek and his dad wanted to do a Nova since most are done exactly the same. (Grasshopper stance, 15" Weld racing wheels, no trim, stock interior and painted black.) It's one of those cars that gets totally overlooked and has so much potential. What they are doing to this Nova is EXACTLY what I've always thought it needs...those bumpers are twice the size they need to be from an aesthetic perspective. It just so happens that a Gen1 Camaro bumper is a pretty good fit for proportions and look, why re-invent the wheel?

Thanks for that last picture Derek, it's much clearer to see all the work Troy and Jared did.

Just before this gets out of hand....

I said i like the work! And i love Nova's too, my very first car was a 68 Chevy 2 at 15 and change and i sold my 70 ss last year when i started the Camaro. I also had a 79 Hatchback a few years ago as a DD.

Since Troy can surely build Bad Ass cars i just think he could have tought of something other than a Camaroed Nova, or a recreation of Strope's design.

I LIKE IT STILL!!!! and i subscribed to this thread because i want to see it come thru.

I like diversity and even tough i'm building a Camaro, i know, and will admit, everyone has one so its nothing particular, but as everyone should be doing, i build it because i dig it!

No offense intended AT ALL, now back to your regular program....

I saw the car when I was on power tour we stopped by troy's- at first glance all I saw was a great looking car -I don't think 9out of 10 people will make the connection to the camaro -they will just see a great looking hot rod and wish it was in their garage like me.
