Had a gray overcast day here yesterday but late in the evening the clouds started to break up to reveal a deep red sun.

Couldn't get down the the beach to shoot it over the water

but these were taken from our Alfresco at home

one with flash on, other with flash off, just before 9pm

Had to get a new phone so I've been playing with it a little. So far I'd say it's not too bad. Allows a lot of "manual" exposure input and legit creativity for a phone. Samsung Galaxy 3.

Thanks Sieg, coming from you that means a lot.

I knew the "Living in harmony" shot was out of focus, but I thought it was cool.

Colorado Springs is my home town. Did you ever make it to the Hill Climb?

Thank you - You captured the harmony and it was well worth it......the other two had the magic though.

I've stayed at the Broadmoor a couple times on business conventions. Love the area and the Pikes Peak race. Still pains me that they went all tarmac......but haven't had opportunity to make the race. Thanks to GoPro, helicopter video, and the internet I feel like I've been there! I'll go back to the Broadmoor, it's an all time favorite!

Great shot of the hotel. Were you there after they (about 3 years ago) did a remodel and built a new swanky tower etc? Business is good. I believe the cheapest room is $500.

My first job at the age of 14 was a caddie there lol.

I stopped going to the Hill climb when they started paving it.

It used to be a 4th of July ritual every year to go up there the night before and PAR..TAY! When Bobbie Unser, little Al, Or big Al came by it was a real sight!

When I look back at the way I drove down the hill after the race, it's a miracle I'm still around lol.
