I consider the LTx series of engines to still be the LSx family of swapping. I know they are vastly different and I understand the differences, but it's hard for me to say LT1 and not think of the 1970's engines.

Yeah, the LT1 in particular has an identity crisis... there are 3 of those!
There were a bunch of considerations for the swap, which we'll cover in detail in this thread as we make updates. The short version is that although the 540 makes great power, it's truly a race engine built for 1/4 mile bursts, not casual weekend cruises interrupted by bursts. Plus, this particular one has been battling a couple high-strung engine issues like an oil leak at the filter adapter, exhaust leak inside the header cone, etc., and the fix costs will be spent bringing him right back to the high-strung BBC. The supercharged LT4 makes tons of power and likes daily driving. Throw in underhood appeal and some other thoughts and it makes sense. More to come on this one!
