I appreciate all the positive comments. I like to think it's got a modern look but not lost all it's nastalgia. Ben recommended some modern mirrors but I want to keep the car muscular. I was really considering a Fuel or Killer Customs look but really wanted to keep the rear bumper chrome and the wheels will pop even more in reality. So I kept the chrome mirror and doorhandles along with the grill trim. The nice thing about it if I change my mind it's all stuff that pops off and can be painted or powdercoated easily. I don't think that is going to be the case.
AJ I am glad you are not writing the checks. I am running a g-bar out back and DSE upper and lower control arms with gulstrand mod and 2" lowering springs. The G bar has coil overs so I can dial in the stance and cut the front springs if necessary.
One of my favorite parts of the project is my seat belt set up. I wanted to get rid of the stock belts but didn't want to be strapped in the car with racing belts. I am going with a new set of 3 point belts mounted to the roll bar to function like a new factory car. Should have photos soon.

lol.
i think the car looks PERFECT in the rendering. not to much chrome , not to much black, to me the car is the perfect mix, and i agree with you on the mirrors (are you doing the drivers side also?)

the gulstrand mod ... thats where you lower the upper control arm mounting hole right? i wouldnt or could spend the dough on an air ride system just the look of that car with the big rear wheels and tires, i just envisioned it being parked just sitting super low!!! no i like you susupension set-up , very very fuctionaly without all the added costs.

Yes....DSE has their own gulstrand template that works with their built in caster and camber curve. At this point adding anything to the budget is out. I totaled everything up in a spreadsheet and it's not pretty. But who gives a ****.

Default Final base and clear coat

I opened my inbox and my computer locked up right when I saw that I had paint pics! Took me an hour to get my computer up and running. It was worth the wait:

Wet sanding and buffing this week. Man does it look hot!!!!!!!

Made my decision on paint and gauges for my DSE dash this week as well.
Gauges are on the way to Frank for a custom touch
Will be discussing final roll bar, seat belt, and grill finishes tomorrow sometime.

That looks very nice, what brand and color of black is that? I'm spraying next week with ppg no toner black. I can only hope it turns out as nice as yours did.

Lenie, probably best to PM Frank at prodigy for the color. It's supposed to be a really black black. Judging by the photos I agree.
