I think I can get away with glass but Im looking at options. nice work on the metal replacement.

thanks!
Kevin you need to look at the sn65 mustang. Dave at comp fab did the new dash old car swap. Looked very nice. I will send you pictures tonight

Default Awesome!

We've talked on a couple other threads as I'm doing the same LS conversion into a 64 Skylark conv. Man, your not afraid of much! Great job on a huge project! Cudo's to you for keeping up the build thread.

I would say I'm about where your at with the LS coversion although I don't have all the body work to tackle as you do. Love the tailights, very cool. What do you plan on doing for headlights and steering wheel? From what I'm getting from talking with Grant, you can't get a steering wheel for this airbag column.

Went to a local car show this past summer and there was a guy who took the shell of a Camaro like yours and grafted it to a 97 Firebird chassis. The car looked awesome, so I've seen that dash in an older Camaro before. He had to make up the chassis length difference in the front fenders. It was his first show and he took home a well deserved trophy.

grant is correct, you cannot get an adapter for an air bag column. they say that because they can't sell you something knowing you will remove your air bag. since your not using air bags in your car you can use grant adapter GRT-3196.

i'm not sure what i am going to do yet about a wheel i am thinking i will just run the stock 4th gen wheel because i have steering wheel controls.

as for head lamps i have a set of HID from a nissan that i am going to convert.

The adapter kit you mentioned will fit the 02 spline? Grant said it was special. Also, is there any way to know for sure that the black housing bell will match the 4 1/4" column diameter of the 02? I've had a Classic Grant wheel for some time but the bell is 1/2" small on the diameter.

Thanks again. No doubt you're going to have a very nice ride when it's done.

small update because i had a small side project to get done first.

got some 16g and 18g sheet metal and made a steel box to block of the driver floor vent. since there is a lot of room behind it i figured it would be a great place to mount the throttle position controller for the traction control. fully TIG welded and smoothed.
