Finally took the time to install the rear splash guards - figured I'd get them on before I go my next road trip up to TN for the RTTH event this upcoming weekend.
I went to the 7th Annual Run thru the Hills event and had an absolute blast.
I can't wait to go next year.
We showed up Friday about 45 mins before the cruise to Tail of the Dragon was going to leave from the hotel - luckily they let us check in early and we where able to empty the Vette out with all the crap we had packed.
The Tail of the Dragon was fun - but the rain/fog was absolute crap on the Foothills parkway over to the US 129 - we noticed a few people turned back, but we got over there and the weather cleared up.
Fri night we went to bills shop - and had some apple pie and some Canadian molson - good times all around.
Payton's Camaro was up on the lift - the torque arm slid back into the Axle - something like that and various people spent a good chunk of the night working on it and got it fixed.
Saturday was the Autocross - having to much adult beverages above led to someone feeling like crap - oh well - we got up in time and got to the Autox.
I worked and ran in the first group on Saturday - we got 6 runs in with the first group, then we had to get back to Charlotte because my friend had to get to work. I have no idea what my times where - I'll look in the RTTH thread for those later.
Now for the multimedia portion of this post:
Vids from the Autox:
Dash cam from my cell phone - mount is a POS - need to work on that - and the vid setting was on 480 instead of HD - damnit!
Go Pro vids - At least I've found a good video 'trimmer' and shorted the 40 min vid that I shot.
I ordered these Tuesday before I left for RTTH's - I was worried they'd get delivered over the weekend and that I wouldn't be home.
Luckily they arrived today - and the UPS guy actually read my sign to not leave them on the front door!
I know your not supposed to mod the DD - but after getting dark wheels on the Vette - and finding one hell of a deal on these - I couldn't help myself.
Specs:
2011 CTS-V Satin Graphite wheels
19x9 front
19x9.5 rear (sedan) - the coupe uses a 19x10 out back.
I plan on using BF Goodrich KDW2's on these - I already have a set of 285 35 19 that I had mounted on the Vette. I will be ordering fronts through the BF Goodrich representatives that I talked to at RTTH's - hopefully I get a great deal with them.
The Vette is coming along real well. Its nice to see someone driving the living heck out of a 05 Vette. The wide body kit and wheels look great on there. And congrats on the trophy.

Thanks guys - I don't really have a time frame on the tires for the CTS-V wheels..
Its going to get cold here in a month or so and KDW's don't like anything < 40* outside.
I might be selling my stock C6 wheels that came with the car - they've been sitting in boxes for 2 years - and well I don't plan on putt the stock fenders back on, ever...
I was saving them for a Nova project but I'm not sure a 19x10 Corvette will fit in the back of a 68-72 Nova even minitubed.
I am in the middle of traveling for the next 4 weeks - I'll look at my finances then and decide on tires.
I finally got the time to order the tires and put them on - went with 285 35 19's in the rear and 245 40 19's in the front - tiires are BF Goodrich KDW's.
Since these are summer tires - the wheels will be coming off in the next few weeks - not that it gets that cold in the Carolinas - but it does drop in Dec/January.
Centercaps are off an 04-05 Pontiac Bonneville GXP - I think I am going to pain them SEM trim black - just not sure at this point.
