Just curious, are you keeping the Getrag? I don't know if you've taken measurements, but I was curious as to how far back the shifter would end up.

We are keeping the Getrag Matt.. The shifter is pretty far back & sits high..
But like that about the shifter position.. & can be modified pretty easy.. The assy track system will be a nightmare though.. The 5.0 motor is huge & have to fit it between some pretty narrow frame rails.. but we already have a plan on how to make it work.. I think!

Got our Dynatech headers today.. Got the driver side in today.. the pass side will not be that easy.. Cut up up a brand new set of headers!

Right know I don't know if I'm going to keep the TR6060. I have a T56 that needs to be rebuilt lying around as well. with the TR6060, or Getrag, I think I would need a different output shaft to fit a traditional slip yoke. Additionally, the shifter is pretty far back and if I set the engine back I'd probably have to drive from the back seat.

Hell, right now my Mustang is on the back burner because there is no way I could fit the 5.4 supercharged DOHC engine with both conventional power steering and A/C on the accessory drive. The increased deck height, plus supercharger makes everything just a little too much bigger than the 5.0s, which are a tight fit. Given that the engine was my starting point, (and cost more than the car) I decided to just build another car around the engine.

Anyway, this thread is about your/your customer's car so I won't digress beyond tech talk of what might/might not work.

Thumbs up

Very nice Cris. That engine does look huge. Those headers are pretty sweet looking. Good luck with the passenger's side!

The driveshaft is easy for the Getrag Matt.. I will be get one built here pretty soon & show you what it will be looking like.. Basically what we are doing is trying to build as much of the car around drivetrain & suspension..

Here is a supercharged 5.4 we have been messing around with this week.. Thanks for the info Matt!

At least you don't have to work the headers around changing spark plugs!! Think of the bright side!

Not that the 5.4s really need more power the way they pull off of idle, but do you know how much the Vortech Twin Screw made on it? Did you install it, by chance?
