I have a 1985 Monte Carlo as with a 5.3/4l60 swap. It has factory accessories except an ls3 Camaro5 water pump. I'm letting the car run to get the car up to temp to make sure the fans come on. As I go to check under my hood I notice that my radiator is extremely hot and my upper radiator hose looks like it's about to burst and it's also extremely hot as well. While my lower radiator hose is cool. Could it be a defective thermostat? WHAT AM I MISSING? PLEAS HELP!!!!!!!😭😭😭😭😭😭

Sounds like you have air in the system. I've had good luck with topping off a system through the steam vent hose. It's a little tedious, but not bad if you use a small funnel. Do this with the system cold. You'll be surprised how much water the block will take.

How hot did it get by your gauge? Stock thermostat?

Yea I moved my upper radiator hose up some to remove a slight bend/kink in it. Then I bled the cooling system real good. That fixed my problem. It has an ls3 water pump with a stock 187° thermo. My fans are set to come on at 202 and 205.
