Continuing the reorganization that began earlier this year, with the focus of integrating the Motorsports Competition group within GM Engineering team, the Motorsports Competition group will be reorganized with two new leaders. These leaders will be responsible for leveraging GM's engineering resources to assist the race teams in creating winning strategies to continue our broad legacy of winning race programs.
Mark Stielow, currently Senior Manager, Virtual Development, xIL and Chassis Controls, will be promoted to the newly created role of Director, Motorsports Competition Engineering. Mark will report to Jim Hentschel in this new role. Mark will be responsible for overall engineering and technical direction for NHRA, Indy Car, IMSA and Motorsports Operations. Mark's extensive knowledge of performance integration, vehicle dynamics, along with his background in racing and performance vehicles will be integral in this new role.
