Default help wiper motor turns backwards

i have been building a 69 Z28 and installed a new wiper motor and now it turns backwards.anyone have an idea how to get it to turn the right way? i have tried to change the wires and it will pop a fuse if i turn the 2 prong plug next to firewall.
another problem i am having is the dome light and the light at rear of console doesnt go off.they stay on all the time and cant figure out why.
