Was invited to the track Sunday, and saw a bunch of bad ass cars. Grabbed some shots of a few.
We walked done this strip of Camaro's, and Vette's, we came across something interesting to say the least. As we were looking at it, a friend of mine noticed a fuel injection badge, and as he looked in the interior. He spotted a boost gauge. Unfortunately, the hood wasn't open. So, me being the care free one. I laid on the ground and scooted under the driver side fender to find a turbo.
And a 62" convertible, I believe the year was? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Lastly, I came across a couple 89" Turbo Trans-Am's. I haven't ever seen these before so I was kind of dumb founded. Lol
The thread title threw me off ... but I'm staying with it.
So happy, excited, proud that Sam Schmidt's team ... a small, low funded team with a lot of good people & heart ... won the Pole for the Indy 500. James Hinchcliffe is the driver. In fact all 3 of Sam's cars qualified in the top 10, besting teams like Penske, Andretti & Ganassi. Amazing & cool.
Greg Weld & I are both friends of Sam and know him to be a hell of a good guy & an inspiration.
I imagine it's a great week to be at Indy, 100th anniversary...what a party! I've got a friend that just finished (last week) the restoration of an old racer and it's been hauled back east for the ceremonies.
Congratulations to your friend, Ron! It's kind of a big deal!
