LOL. This is a riot! Man, you guys are brutal! It's not really as competitive as it sounds. There's so much work available that there's plenty for all of us. A lot of it comes down to personal preference of style rather than low bid or aggressive marketing ("whoring"). Some people love the photo-realistic and dramatically posed 3D renderings like Kris and Bo, others like a more expressive and dynamic 2D rendering like Brian, some like a photoshop chops cuz they're quick (read inexpensive to the builder) and realistic.
Bottom line is, since the popularity of shows that feature Foose's renderings, artists see an emerging industry that wasn't there before. Schools like Art Center in Pasadena are graduating tons of designers that don't necessarily want to work as a staff designer for GM or Ford. There are tons of us popping up all the time. We all enjoy each other's work and get inspired to do better or are willing to try new things. We learn from each other. I actually just got a major project from a reference from another designer here. How cool is that!
We're glad we can make the fabricators and painters job a little easier when it comes to color and wheel choice and getting the owner to spend a little more money on something really killer (did I say that out loud?).
Oh, and by the way, I have another email account on standby, just incase! Sorry guys!
