To All:
Thanks a million for all who posted.
I had found some by American Racing and a few others, but I wanted to see:
1) if I could get Magnesium Wheels in the Cobra Pattern (After reading the headaches of Magnesium, I am guessing Aluminum would be a better idea)
or
2) I wanted to find 17 X 13 inch rear wheel without having to widen it, and a 17 X 10 in front. At those sizes I could maximize the Tire Size and not have the bulge frequently found in wheels whose tires are really to big to handle properly.
The links from the UK were especially helpful as (If I read it correctly) I could order these in a 3 piece wheel, 13 inches wide, with a custom offset so I could get them to fit perfectly in the Mini wheel Tubs.
These wheels are intended to go on my '69 Z/28 rs Camaro project. Color (As of Now) Viper red with Black Stripes. I think these wheels would look great on this car with either the traditional Grey or the Black centers.
I think it would blend well the, "Vintage" with the updated, "Pro-touring" theme.
As a kid in the 60's (7-10 years old) I really liked the Cobra and the American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels. They seem to be "Right" for the "69 Camaro.
I just don't want to lose too much of the original flavor of the car by going to too many obvious modern upgrade. I prefer a more understated appearance. Once someone takes a look at the widths of the wheels and tires, and the suspension upgrades, it would become obvious that performance was important in this project.
Any thoughts one way or the other.
Thanks,
