Default G bar rear suspension

Anyone know about what is the minimum backspacing on a 12" wide wheel you can have with the Chris Alston G bar rear in a 69 camaro? I guess another question is what is the most I can narrow the rear end to have the deepest dish wheel? Thanks

Frank at Prodigy Customs is you best bet on g-bar,wheel, and rearend questions. I am running exactly that setup on my car that they are laying the clear on tomorrow. You need to by the wheels and then measure for you rear. The wheels will only give you a small window for backspacing anyway.

Default G bar

Please let me know about the back spacing when you guys find out, it will save me from ordering wheels that hit the lower bars. How does the Gbar suspension handle and ride?

Project EmtyyNest runs the absolute minumum backspace at right arpund 5" on a 12" wheel which gives a full 6" lip to the wheel. To achieve this low backspace, you will need to use either our G bar / Air Bar rear, or buy our lower link brackets, or fab your own lower link brackets as the stock leaf pads and supplied brackets will limit how much you can narrow your rear.

As for maximum backspace, it is almost unlimited. As Jake mentioned, we are doing Vinnies wheels now at a 8" backspace for a stock rear and mini tub. You could actually probably go somewhere near 9" backspace if the rear is widen, which we will know soon as we have a project going this way. So your backspace can run anywhere in this range.

Whenever you get ready for your wheels, or G bar for that matter, let me know and we can dial you in from plenty of experiance.
