Default changing from points to electronic

Question for ya'll...I have two wires going to the existing coil, but no resistor as far as I can tell. When I change to the new coil, do both those wires connect to the positive terminal?

Where do these wires go now? Should be one on the negative and one (or more) on the positive.

You need to provide more information, what specifically are you installing? I assume instructions were included with the product you purchased, you might consider reading them.

Thanks, I wasn't totally clear on this. There are two wires to the POSITIVE terminal, and I'm wondering if one is a resistor. I don't have an ohmmeter to check on them, and I've read the instructions carefully, but I'm confused by the section on the gap. How is that measured?

You need to borrow a voltmeter and check the voltage coming in, key on. I don't know what electronic system you're converting to, some require the lower voltage of a point system, and even include a ballast to use; others require a full 12 volts to operate properly.

To answer your gap question I'd need to know what system you're using.
