Default Pro Touring '63 F100 @ Torq'd Design

This truck came to us for a rest-mod/pro-touring overhaul! The truck has had only two owners and the owners plan on keeping it in the family from now on! Since a lot of parts are not made for these trucks we will be building a lot of custom/one-off pieces to make the truck unique.

This is how the truck looked after sitting since the early 80's...it was loaded up and ready for delivery.

Sweet!! Can't wait to see this one. I was on vacation in the Bahamas a few weeks ago and low and behold a citizen had one of these fixed up really nice. It was navy blue with some nice wheels on it. I was really surprised to see it over there fixed up to that level of quality and it wasn't no crap either. It was very nicely done. Anyway, back to the subject at hand. I'm watching this one. I think you guys do damn good work. I'll have to visit your shop one day. I'm about 70 miles west of you.

Good looking trucks IMO.

What kind of chassis, motor and trans will it get?

Yes, we are very excited about this build! Do you have any pics of that truck? I will be updating this thread regularly and appreciate your comments about our work! Thank you! Come on by anytime you want!

We are going to change a lot more modern but still keep it pro-touring/resto-mod. A lot of the sheetmetal changes will be with the bed.
We have almost completed building and metal finishing a custom chassis for the truck, and it will have a Ford 347ci engine with a C6 trans.

Surprise surprise I like it.

Any details on the 347? AFR or TW heads? EFI or Carbed?

How about an AOD with a Lentech valvebody instead of the C6

It's good to see a truck being redone with the PT theme...

Are you guys going to fix the body line issue with the bed and cab? That modle ford has always looked like the bed was a left over from the previous body style to me.

I hope to get over to your shop to see you guys some time and have a look at what you are doing over there.

The owner had the 347 ( I think its around a 400 hp dyno'd engine)built so I will have to check the specs on it. It is a carbed engine right now but we will probably be changing it over to EFI in the end. The owner had a new C6 so he chose to use this as well.

Yes, we are excited about doing a mild mannered pro-touring styled truck that has very subtle and clean touches! Yes, that bed has never looked right to me either. We are going to pretty much hand build the bed to lower the body line to meet the cab and reshape the rear end of the bed as well! A lot of subtle custom touches that should look more natural. Come by the shop anytime!!

Starting the disassembly -

It had some rust issues in the front floor pans and front section of the inner rockers due to a leaky sunroof. I guess these were popular in the late 70s or early 80s? Don't worry...the roof is being re-skinned!

Yay!! The bed looks like it came from a completely different bodystyle truck? The front and rear wheel openings/style are totally different. Can't wait to see how you blend the two styles together!
