Thanks Mike. Here's what I tell people who are "on the fence".
A paddle shifted manumatic will:
1) ...electronically change gears faster than either a conventional manual or mechanically shifted automatic.
2) ...automatically change gears with virtually no power interruption.
3) ...digitally eliminate the possibility of missed shifts.
4) ...digitally calibrate the transmission to your vehicle's
exact needs.
5) ...allow you to maintain full, two-handed steering control.
6) ...turn off when your not in the mood.
7) ...blow people's minds--just like the rest of your hot rod.
The only thing missing is that visceral "toe tappin/gear jammin" sensation. Can't help you there. The paddle shifter is,
by design, effortless and intuitive. So you have to ask yourself which is more important: Getting the gear change over and done with? Or the actual act of changing gears? For a lot of people, it's the act of changing gears. I'm good with that. But factor in the entire driving experience (E.T., steering control, traffic, etc.), and you might come over to the dark side.
