Question Need HELP! Moving to Gilroy CA

Morning ... I have accepted a job offer in Gilroy CA and need recommendations for storing my 67 Camaro. Called around to storage units and they said they "can't store a non-op car on the grounds!" What? I have a quote from Reliable Carriers to get it there, just no place to put it inside outa sight!

Any recommendations? I am on a waiting list for house rentals, so it could be some time before I can put her in a garage. One moving company said I could leave the car on their truck and just pay storage for the whole truck ... so far best option!

Do they ask what you will be storing now days? I might be able to understand them saying that if the car was stored outside in the open, but what difference does it make in a garage? I think I would call around to different storage facilities and if they ask what you are storing just tell them car parts. Technically it would be true.

BTW, Congratulations on the new job!

I use a Public Storage indoor unit to store 4 cars and 2 motorcycles and have never had any issues with them about it.

Thanks guys ... this is the best news I've had all day, been a rough one ... had to put my 11 year old Great Dane down this afternoon. Bone cancer was taking it's toll on her quality of life and mine, so it was a hard decision but I'd like to think she's in heaven chasing squirrels right now!

Vince if you are sure you can spare space I would appreciate it ... I'm working w a property mngmt agency to rent in Gilroy or Hollister, I have to be at work SCRWA on April 4th.

Chief,
Condolences on your pup. We know they only go 10-15 years when we get them, yet it is so hard to lose them. It is hard to get another one right away, and hard not to.
Congrats on the new job & move. Boy, you got a plate full!

There goes the neighborhood but welcome to the left coast. What is SCRWA ? Sorry about your Dane. Ours only live a little over a year and they are such sweethearts.
