Default Suggestions on suspension and brakes

Finishing up the body work on my 69 Firebird project just in time for cooler weather. Trying to figure out which way to go with the suspension and brakes. Going to leave the car in primer while I'm getting the 4-point cage, sub-frame connectors, and everything else fitted (bought the car in pieces, so would like to assemble it and tear it down before paint so there are no surprises after paint). Thinking about mini-tubing it too. Car will mainly see autocross and occasional track. So many options and need to consider ease of install (myself), performance, cost, etc. Any thoughts on how to decide?

For the experts to weigh in, budget is a key factor. There are some great low cost kits out there that are relatively inexpensive and then there are full suspension replacements that could break the bank....

Forgot to mention that I am going to stay with the stock sub-frame.
