Default Tremec DCT availability - what are the chances?

Anyone in the know concerning Tremec’ eventually offering the DCT for private sale? This is the new dual clutch trans designed for the new GT500 and the C8 ‘vette. Looks like I nice option that I’d consider.........

I havent seen any controllers for Tremec DCT but here in Europe many is swapping BMW M3 7 speed DCT to their drift, drag or even street cars. There is couple different controllers already in the market.
Seems to be strong, but 7th gear is 1:1 so no overdrive is big minus for me.

About Tremec DCT, its huge size. Bigger than 10 speed. Not so easy to install.

Appreciate the response. Yeah, the 1:1 in 7th is a no go for me. Time will tell!

F80 M3/M4 and F10 M5
6th is .844

Not sure why no OD is the decision point. With those gears you aren't running 3.73s or 4.10s anyway. More like 2.56 gears. Seems that would make up for no OD
(Ooh, old thread) .

Because my engine dosent spin 8 to 10.000rpm.
Need overdrive(s)and low gears. Looking to get top speed over 200

You shouldnt put those two in same sentance or in to same line 4L80 and DCT.
Night and day. Rocks and sticks vs. modern day. You will never get that same out of old style hydraulic automatic trans as will from direct clutch transmission. Why the current Corvette and GT500 Mustang has one.

Example, you can upshift in the middle of the corner flat out at roadracing. Does not lose traction because its so smooth.

I've put 4L80 and TCI 6X earlier projects.. No more. Even again.
Current project building with Mercedes W5A900, used in SLRMcLaren and Maybach. (Only .83 OD) Would like to use DCT but dosent hold enough tq for my application (+1500ftlbs)

Tremec showed off the DCT at SEMA this year and reportedly IF it were to go on sale in the future the cost would be around $20K for the transmission/controller etc.

At that price point you would be better off with a PPG sequential in a T56 or the 6XD billet bad mofo.

I wouldn't hold my breath....

I wonder if some of the other DCT controllers can be made to work with the Tremec DCT...
