They'll only burn if they're touching the headers. Common sense rule applies here. Get a quality set of headers and you'll have zero issues. You've got the luxury of having a popular engine/car combo so read up on what others here have done to help guide you.
As for me, I went with the DSE headers in my 68 Camaro/LS3 setup...perfect fit and no issues installing/removing plugs. Good luck!
I just went through this. I got a ls3 and put the cheap ls3 headers off ebay on it. they were shorty headers that cost like 150. I got ls3 in DSE camaro subframe setback 2.5". There were two issues. One pipe hits on my heads. I have race heads with extra bolt holes on bottom and on the passenger side one tube grazes that flange. If you do not have race heads with extra bolt holes this will not be a issue. And I have what your talking about. my engine(Texas speed ls3) came with MSD wires with long boots. three plug wires hit. two barely one decent(5degreeish). I used a press and pushed in one tube about 3mil? to fix one side and got three short boot wires to fix the wire rub. trying not to spend the 2K DSE charges for headers.
