Default Which Head Gaskets for LS3?

Maybe I should have titled the thread "Best Head Gaskets for Blown LS3"

I've done my initial sweep of the internet and found that the MLS gaskets from GM on the LS3 have been used up to 900 HP without failing.

However, I have also seen many recommendations being made for the LS9 head gaskets as well. Supposedly a straight swap.

Anyone here have an opinion on this?

You'll likely get lots of opinions. The GM MLS stuff is great, and the ls9 units your looking at should be fine for your new purchase.

I must caution you however about you wanting to stud the bottom end. My ls2 is studded at the bottom, but I had my machinist line bore the mains with the new studs, because it will alter the main bore's roundness, due to a different clamping force caused by the main studs. Don't take my word for it, on this issue. Do some research. LS1Tech is your friend, or ask your engine builder.
Some people do it, and get away with it, and some not so much.
I'm not trying to talk you out of doing this, just throwing some caution your way.
I love your car, by the way!

Thanks for the information Scott. I will do some additional research before I do anything on the main studs. Really appreciate it.

Watch your mouth old man. Get some steel head gaskets, just make sure you spray them with sealant.

Tim, thanks for the info----I went ahead with the LS9 gaskets after seeing your post and doing some additional research. I'm only shooting for about 700rwhp.
