Default Hmm.. how screwed am I?

set to fly from LAX to Amarillo, TX tomorrow to visit family for xmas. The problem is that it's on United so we had to chance planes in...

http://www.denverpost.com/ci_4876429

Even if they open the airport tomorrow mid-day I would think we would still be screwed.

Thinking of just driving.. what's a 1000 miles.. 15 hours?

damn snow...

You are screwed Steve....We were supposed to fly to Denver today to visit family and will not be able to fly there any time soon. My dad says the Denver metro area got 24+ inches of snow and there is so much on the ground they can't even get ground crews out to clear the roads. Good luck!!! I hope we can get home too!

Even when they get the snow off the ground....it will take time to re-set the planes.....what a mess.....

I called United and got some guy in India telling me everything is still on time.

Even if they open tomorrow morning it will have to take them a while to get caught up.. there's something like 3000 people stuck there right now.

Looks like I will be gassing up the GMC and driving tonight.. Mapquest says its only a 14 hour drive, that's 12hrs in reality.

the drive is pretty much "as the crow flies" for 956 miles on the highway 40...

I certainly don't wanna get stuck in Denver for the holidays or diverted to who-knows-where.

The Flagstaff area and Northern NM get snow/ice pretty regularly. I would check road conditions with AZ and NM DOT
