Tremec TKO Mid Shift Kit 30-17-4XR not require tail house removal?

Tremec Mid Shift Kit 30-17-4XR This seems to be a revision to the 30-17-4X kit. This is a shifter relocation kit for Tremec TKO 500/600 transmissions.

This kit appears to have a peg or stud welded onto the rear block off plate, I am assuming this peg is to hold in place the shift rod in the tailshaft housing that is no longer used when moving the shifter to the middle location.

The 4X kit requires the tailshaft housing to be removed, this 4XR seems like it would not require the removal of the tailshaft housing. This seems to be a much simpler install.

They list attributes as:
- Makes for an easy installation in tight quarters
- Has a streamlined mid-shift kit for Tremec TKO transmissions

But they don't mention this specifically. I cannot find a 4XR specific set of instructions, and Tremecs site only has information pertaining to the 4X.

I tried asking a question on the Speedway page, I tried emailing Tremec. I am not getting any replies.

Has anyone have experience with this newer kit?
