Exclamation More information on 1962 Buick Special Please!

I really want help on finding a good source of images and information on the 1962 Buick Special that was featured in Gran Turismo 4 after it won a compettion at SEMA 2003.

This car

I want to be put in touch with the honour and/or find more pictures and information on the car.

Do a google search on the buick sites and in the leading mags after it won the award. It has a 455 in it.

I tried finding the link on PHR but no avail. I know it was built by a guy name Ryan out of Washington. He built it for a guy by the name of Ted Richardson I believe. Way cool car. Saw it at SEMA 2003. I'll dig around more and see if I can find anything else on it. I remember these was a site on this car when it was being built.

Ryan Butler built it while working at Hot Rod Fabrication Unlimited in Auburn, WA and it belongs to Ted & Sue Richardson of Grants Pass, OR and was featured in Custom Rodder which no longer exists but still has a website www.customrodderweb.com as well as in Popular Hot Rodding.

Funny you mention it because I saw a real clean one for sale yesterday priced for $7500

Intake manifold, headers, exhaust, motor mounts, supercharger intake tubes and all brackets – hand fabricated by Ryan Butler

Brakes:
Baer Pro+ 13.5” rotors, Alcon 4 piston calipers (front)
Baer Pro+ 13.5” rotors, Alcon 4 piston calipers (rear)

Wheels:
Budnik ‘Arrowhead’ 17x8 front, 17x11 rear

Tires:
Michelin Pilot Sport, 235/40R17 front, 335/35R17 rear

Frame/Chassis/Suspension:
Art Morrison frame rails
Fabricated sheet metal housing by Scribner welding
Ford 9” 3rd member
31 spline axles
Stainless Steel control Arms from Heidts
SuperRide II front end from Heidts
Air Ride Shock Wave system front & rear from Air Ride Technologies
Roll Cage and all remaining pieces of frame/chassis hand fabricated by Ryan Butler

Trans & Clutch:
Richmond 6 speed
McCloud bell housing and twin disk clutch
Clutch/brake pedal assembly from Kugel (modified by Ryan)

Body/Interior:
The following body modifications/fabrication done by Ryan Butler
Rear quarter panel line and wheel opening modified
Wing windows removed
Gas door moved to top of rear quarter panel
All floor metal
Body fabricated to roll cage, which is bolted to frame
Firewall, front inner fenders, roll pan, core support all hand fabricated
Front end modified for supercharger inner cooler
Dash and gauge pod
Wheel tubs
