Default EXHAUST CUTOUTS one-touch

I have always wanted exhaust cutouts on my 68 Camaro. Sporting a 572 tall deck big block, I thought it would be cool.

Here’s the problem: I want the one-touch button like Kindiggit does on their builds, but they won’t sell the parts or design. Kindiggit sells cutouts with a rocker switch which you have to hold during opening and closing which can lead to motor failure over time.

Here’s the solution:
1. Buy a momentary button that has at least 4 amp capacity.
I went with Billet Automotive Buttons out of Australia because it’s backlit and custom laser etched. See pic and schematic drawing. Works perfectly.

2. Go to TimersShop.com. and buy their exhaust cutout controller.
It is an excellent controller and is tricky to wire the terminals.
TIP: solder tin 18awg wire about 5/16” long and stab it deep through the opening. Anything larger awg won’t stay.
See pic and schematic.
Note in pic that we used weatherpac connectors because we wanted to upgrade wiring beyond controller to16awg with sxl insulation.

3. Install the cutouts in exhaust. I used Kindiggit cutouts with custom inlet piping (no extra charge!). See pic.

If you are as committed as I am regarding open headers at the “touch” of a button.., please reply

Very cool, thank you. I book marked the site and will likely do the same. I also like some of the other products they offer.
