Default Looking for thoughts and some questions answered on exhuast building supplies

Hello Everyone,

I am doing so research on parts/suppliers, now have a couple questions.

1- Has anyone dealt with www.anfittingsdirect.com, I ran across them on a Google search. I seen on there site they have 3" stainless pipe for exhaust systems 304 grade, now here is my main question what is the wall thickness of the pipe that guys on here use when building a 3" stainless system and a brief reason why, as this is all new to me. I want to get it right first time so hope none of this comes across stuip but trying to educate my self here lol
This website says in reading there description the pipe is. 050 thick but there chart with all the dimensions show it as. 0625 wall thickness. I have a email out to them to varify this dimension. They seem to have pretty good prices compared to Vibrant Performance which I looked up also,so was not sure if I am missing something. One more question can anyone give me a rough guess on materials needed to build a basic exhaust system for a 69 camaro with notched trunk floor, tank corners, DSE quadra link? Just trying to get basic idea of how many and what bends will be needed to get the final product, was not sure if anyone what had a basic starting as I know its all custom and cut and fit as you go. If anyone cares to share the best place to buys this stuff that would be great also!!

Now 2nd question on wire harness, has anyone used PSI and any thoughts? I am also looking at speartech?

Again thanks in advance, I don't post much here but read alot so figured I could get some good input on this with all you.

The website your getting you stainless from seems kinda fishy. Just order the good stuff from a known supplier of quality stuff. It is amazing some of the stuff I have seen that people say is stainless, but I kinda wonder. We buy all out stainless parts from SPD. There are the leader in the industry.

Never heard of the wiring company you asked about. Speartech does a nice harness.

Rodger,

Thanks for the info, I have not bought any stainless from this place yet because it did sound fishy as you say. The company you mentioned SPD does that stand for anything if I google them??

Mandrelbends.com aka columbia river bending has some great material and great prices. SPD and Burns is top notch and top money.

Cone engineering/megs exhaust does a nice formed merge collector kit.

I used verocious motorsports.

My exhaust guy used:

16-90deg bends

2-8ft lengths of pipe

8ft is the max ups will ship(normal pricing) from what I've been told. Their shipping is actually really reasonable.

You're in luck, I also used a PSI harness. It was very user friendly. Support was also very good.

Sweet thanks for details on materials used! I downloaded PSI instructions the other night and read through them and it seemed pretty good, glad to get some feed back.

Did you use 16 GA pipe? I work for UPS so if its at all possible I always try and go pick my stuff up and fly it home with me to save on shipping LOL UPS won't even give its workers a discount!

Have a great day

I'm not at the exhaust stage yet, but when I am I'm only dealing with SPD. I've spoken to then on numerous occassions and they are well versed in their product and know their stuff. Each time I needed them to call me back, they did....great customer service. Prices seem fair to me. Also, I did get my harness from John at Speartech. Another great company. I recommend them as I have dealt with them before.
