Default Engine Builders

Hey guys just after some names of engine builders in the U.S. I am in Australia and am planning on importing an engine because the U.S dollar at the moment makes it heaps cheaper for me to import an engine than get one built here.
Any suggestions of reputable builders that you have had experience with would be great. I am after a 408 Windsor or similar.
Any websites or recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks

www.pettisperformance.com Jason is as sharp as they come. He's building me a ZL-1 489 currently. I went out to the drags Saturday and Sunday and watched the Mustang he builds the engine for and crew chiefs. It's a 440 ford with a supercharger that makes 2500 hp at ran a 6.71 on Saturday. Not the cheapest but a killer reputation. Let him know I sent you.

Roush Racing makes a few "crate" engines and specializes in Fords...

Or another crate engine builder with a pretty good reputation:

You want a "custom" motor or crate??

I have to say that referring people that you have no experience with is a bad idea. Whoever you do select, make sure and do plenty of due diligence. I've been down the crate engine road, you get what you pay for..........

Opps -- forgot to finish before hitting send...

I have two buddies that have Smeding small blocks (383's) - they're very happy with them.

If your looking for a Ford small block engine Keith Craft is the only place I'd go to have one built. This guy has won more engine masters challenge than anyone out there.

http://keithcraft.com/vp500/shopdisp...at=351+Windsor

If you want a big block, monster power call Robert Pond or Jon Kaase. These are the 3 top ford engine builders in the country...I've had engines from all 3 of these builders.
