Default Mustang Question

Hey Guys:

I have an opportunity to buy a 1969 Mustang Convertible.

Specs that I know of:
351 Cleveland/Holley 4 barrel
Stock Suspension (that will have to change)
Vintage Air System
Electric Fan conversion
Front Disc Brakes/Rear Drums
All sheet metal is above average to great
New Modern Stereo
Paint is 4-5 year old but in good condition for a driver
Manual top

I personally know the guy selling it very well and I trust him. Since up to this point I have focused my search on Camaros, I am somewhat limited on what this is worth. We are sorta of talking in the $12,000 range, but I think I can possibly get him down to $11,000.

What do you mustang enthusiasts think . . Worth it? Any advice would be appreciated.

I am NOT a Mustang expert so I have no idea. You could also search ebay to get an idea....

Sounds like an affordable car to have fun with. Not to mention, you have been searching for quite some time now.

You might have found your baby.

Well as Paul Harvey says "And now you are going to hear, the rest of the story"

The Mustang is my Brother's. He now wants a bigger boat so the car is on the gotta sell list. I have loved the car since he bought it 5 years ago. I would love to keep it in the family but I am not sure how to get what I want out of it.

Goals would be to make it a Budget P/T machine but also a driver.

Plan:

1. Get car
2. Enjoy car for a little while (also know as "park the ricer" )
3. Work on steering/stance/brakes/Wheel and tire combo
4. Work on engine/trans/other powertrain parts
5. Repaint

Will let you guys know what happens. Wish me luck.
