Default Rear axle weight of '68 camaro?

trying to choose coil over springs. I was curious what the rear end weight of a stock '68 camaro is? Thanks, Nik

Looking to run coil overs in the front as well with CPP arms and stock height spindles. Any suggestions on getting a 2-3" drop? Or are there drop spindles that will work with 17" wheels?

these guys will need more info, engine size? vert? 2-3 inches from what height?
I think you should get a base first then go from there.
Also some tuning and adjusting will be necassary

Thanks Vince. Small block chevy engine, 5 speed manual, its a hard top. looking for 2-3" drop from factory ride height. I was asking for my buddy, who is also a member here. He can provide additional info if more is needed.

also has a 12 bolt and will be getting four linked this month. Hence looking for spring rates for 4 link set up.

Here is a link to our car weights section on our website it has several 1st Gens on it. The thing you will notice is that every car weighs a little bit different depending on what is or isn't in it. We also have a spring rate calculator in the same section of our website that might help you. The bad thing about guessing at the weights is that you will be guessing at your spring rate also. You really need to know the weight of the rear of the car and the unsprung weight (everything the coilover isn't holding up). We also have coilover setups for the front using our control arms. We drop the shock mounting point to get a longer stroke shock on it. Also our drop spindle will work just fine with a 17" wheel. If you need any help give us a shout.

A 12 bolt with drum brakes complete weighs 185 lbs.
The unsprung weight includes half the shock, half the spring, that brings it to 285!

We use a 220 lb. spring in the rear for the majority of our torque arm applications on the 1st gen. This rate has worked for about 75% of our customers unless they have a large speaker box, nitrous bottles, etc. in the trunk. I doubt you will ever want less than 200 lbs/in or any more than 275 lbs/in...
