Default Mcleod rxt clutch

I am in the process of installing the mcleod rxt clutch, It comes with 3 dowel type alignment pins. One side of the pine is larger then the other, The ls3 flywheel has 2 holes, I believe you install the gold ring, that the clutch pack mounts to loosely, then drive the small end of the pin into the flywheel, through the gold ring, I am just afraid that if the pins came out of the flywheel for some reason it may damage the clutch. Thanks
