The rear end brackets for my Alston's 4-link should be getting welded into the 69 Camaro soon. The next decision is what fuel tank works and how to install the exhaust.
Regarding the fuel tank, do I need a narrowed tank? I'm thinking that I don't, everything seems to be forward of the front edge of the tank on a CAC 4-link, and while the car has mini-tubs, there is no modification of the inner edge of the frame rails. Sway bar is clear and below the ford 9-inch rear end. So I could use a standard size tank, but do I really WANT to?? Or NEED to run a narrowed tank??
I've just wondered if I'm going to need to use a narrowed tank to fit the exhaust? I don't think it will matter, but I'd like to know what others have done. Got pictures out there???
And if I need to use a narrowed tank, I know that Ricks and Rock Valley make stainless replacement narrowed tanks. And there is always a fuel cell. I'm running an LS1, so I need a modern fuel pump, no power adders, so a standard flow should be good for this build. Route 66, Tanks Inc., DSE, Aeromotive and Spectra are other options.
And would you do it differently if you had to do it again if you were at my decision point again....
