hooking comptuer up to my t.v.???

I have a Dell laptop computer and on the back of the computer there is a "S" plug and also another female plug on the back that has 15 terminals on it. what I was wondering was could I use one of these to plug into my Vizio flat screen t.v. ?? if so then I could see netflix videos on the t.v. instead of the computer.also if I could hook this up maybe I could see youtube videos as well maybe??? I don't have any extra cables or I would have tried them.I am not big on computers so please pardon the dumb question here.
