Default What's your winter project?

Since it's about that time for a lot of us northerners to put the cars away for the season... what are you doing to your car this winter?

I don't have a lot planned, just little things like hiding the coils, getting an Auto Meter in-dash digital shift light, etc. I'm also thinking about being proactive with a new clutch. But I think my main focus is to finally finish off the inside of my garage.

What's keeping you busy this winter?

First of all finishing off my new 3 car garage (25x35) since I am retiring from the military in a couple weeks and moving back to TX. But I do have plans for the car like installing some B-Quiet sound deadner, a new shifter, some of Autometer's new American Muscle gauges when they come out and Digitails LED tail light kit.

Since its the mid 40's right now, with a 10 knot north wind, Its' really not that cold, I was born in CT. and love the cold weather, I sat on the couch with my LS1 harness in my lap marking the parts to be removed!

Since its nice and cool and DRY in FL, this is when I really get the most of my work done, will tear down the rear this week, start drilling out the spot welds for the mini tubs, and time for a little engine mock up work......

forgot to say I was watching the missing person show with Lapagla can't remember the name...

building a 40x80x12 shop with 25x40 living quarters.
Although, it may roll into May before we are fully finished and ready to move in.

Luckily here in OK, we have pretty nice winters with only a few snows a year. Once the shop is done, I will be able to get back to work on the 68'!

Finish the car!!! The car left home 2-weeks ago to go back to my engine builder to finish plumbing fuel and brake lines and finish some wiring that was above my abilities. I talked to him yesterday and just about done. Next on the list was installing the exhaust system and start the car for the 1st time in over 2-years!! Once it's running it's off to DMV to get inspected and then to the interior shop to have the door panels re-covered and rear seat re-done and sound system installed. By spring time it will be time to put the hammer down and drive it! I Hope!!

As odd as it sounds: finish my A/C installation. The boys and girls at Vintage Air (shout out to Rick Love!) and Prodigy have been fantastic with tech support and design help.

I may actually have a running car again in a week or so. It's been down since before Pigeon Forge (I threw some of it together so I could drive it for that weekend).

Also: I'm re-routing my fuel lines so they don't get close to the headers, and then I'm installing an Aeromotive fuel pump controller.

Default I have started working on the body

Not my cars body...my body. Too much social activity with hops and barley has added a few pounds over the summer. I have been getting up at 5:30 am and getting back into the gym.

Like you Scott, I am going to hide my coils.

Bigger front bar, different front shocks. Maybe even a torque arm in my future.

Since I have no money I'll probably just sit and stare at it this winter. Maybe put on some music. Couple cold ones. Box of tissue.
