Default Newbie, Import guy that LOVES first gen camaros!!

hey ya'll I'm a newbie to the forums, and also a newbie to the domestic scene. I have love for all cars not just imports. I have a 2003 mitsubishi lancer evolution that I have built and is in the 700 hp range so I am no newbie to building cars.

I just like learing about different cars so I decided to join this forum. Also it is my dream to buy an old first generation camaro and restore it (as I'm sure a lot of people want to do). but I thought maybe getting tips on here of what to look for in a shell might help me. and also where to look for one.

just wanting to say hi to ya'll!

Just for he heck of it here are a few pics of the evo and evo build .... sorry ya'll for the low quality pics, they are cell phone pics, I don't have a digital camera lol

on a different camaro forum a guy asked me what I did to make the car be around 700 hp and what I trapped. I figured I'd just copy and paste what I said just in case someone wants to know a little more about the setup

the car is stroked to a 2.3 liter engine, using ross pistons, oliver rods and an eagle crank.

the head is ported and polished Buschur Stage 3 with Buschur Racing 272 duration high lift cams.

Buschur race core intercooler

the turbo kit is a Buschur front facing turbo kit with a Garrett Forced performance HTA GT3582r turbo with a .82 A/R hotside

the intake manifold is an AMS VSR intake manifold but soon to be switched to a Driven innovations.

2 walbro 255 LPH in tank fuel pumps, 1200cc precision injectors

HKS DLI 2 ignition

Quartermaster Twin Disc clutch, John Shepherd rebuilt transmission

no track times because theres are realatively new mods, I am not tuned for the new stuff shown in the picture

with MUCH less aggressive mods the car ran an 11.2 @ 135mph (yes bad E.T. for my MPH I know lol) on 93 octane and that was 508 whp on a mustang dyno. that was on 30 psi, the turbo is efficient up to a little over 40 psi with race gas

on my next tune I'm going all out using VP Q-16 racing fuel and think 700hp or close to it is achievable on a dynojet dyno (not on a mustang dyno) at around 42 psi

whats crazy is these little 4G63 engines can handle 550-575 (dynojet) whp on the stock bottom end/stock valvetrain (but of course aftermarket cams)

I just built mine because I wanted more displacement to spool the turbo quicker AND for extra safety

this car right here has a lot of the same mods that I do (except mines a 2.3 liter) he as the same head, cams, turbo, exhaust manifold, and exhaust, BUT i'm not expecting to go quite as fast as him lol this guy is pretty much the Evo master and is an awesome tuner lol he has the same front facing turbo manifold as mine same head, cams, exhaust etc..
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/B...ish_192113.htm

here is another one that is a simillar build to mine except it has a slightly different turbo but very comparable still.....has front facing turbo manifold simillar to mine, same cams, head, exhaust, etc..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuT3P5Sb2us

whats awesome about those 2 cars is they run AWESOME quarter mile times but they arent gutted out at all!! Pretty impressive for a STREET CAR thats what I was aiming for

as you can see I love evos haha, but I love the way the first gen camaros look too, I'm wanting to buy a body of one and fix it up. BUT not going to go crazy with it in the HP department, cant afford to do that with 2 cars lol
