Where can I web host a car movie ???
I have a movie I made and want to be able to post links to it etc...
Its in a Window Media Player format and even in its lowest resolutions its 112 Mb, but its only 4 minutes long.....
I've never made a movie or posted it on the web so any help would be great. I have no idea what I'm doing....
I have no idea if there is a way I can decrease the Mb without screwing the movie up etc....

It's a *.wmv and it's 112mb? Doh! That's huge, more than I can handle. What's the res and bit rate?

Hey Scott
If I open the properties it says its an mpeg file that opens with Window Media Player... I can change which program it open with....
I have no idea what the res and bit rate is...... where would I look to find it ??
Basically I used Pixela Image Mixer ( the software than came with my Sony digital camcorder) and made a movie using still pix of my car, short video segements and titles etc etc.... I'm not sure how I can make the movie smaller.... its really not that elaborate, so I have no idea why its so big.... the only thing I can think of is that I used images taken on my digital camera, which are usually pretty big. But even if I set the mpeg preference to low res, its still 112 Mb....
I searched through the HELP stuff in Pixela and I guess it makes the movies as an MPEG1 format.......

I think I'm screwed....
Each digital picture that I transferred to the movie software is still in its large format, so each "slide" I used in the movie is around 600 Kb !!!!!!
If I take each digital picture I transferred and make it a smaller pixels size, then its around 14 Kb for the slide.
The bad news is that I cant change the slides that have already been placed in the movie. I'd have to change each and every stored picture and then put the whole movie together again !!!!! No frickin way.... I put alot of time into the movie as it stands right now....
It never occurred to me that each slide that was being used in the movie editing software was so huge........

Yeah, that's going to make for a large video. If you convert the *.mpg to *.wmv, you should be able to get it to a fraction of that. I've converted 5mb mpg's to 1mb wmv's.
How about Putfile.com? I think you can upload big videos there.

Ned, you could burn it on a CD and mail it to me. I can convert it to a wmv and possibly host it depending on size.
If that works for you, shoot me a PM.

You could host it on edonkey or something like that if you give it a different kind of name and give everyone a name to search for. I get my porn from there

Hey guys,
If you want to convert to Windows Media, an easy way is to use the Windows Media Encoder directly from Microsoft. If I remember, it should take an Mpeg1 source file.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx
I own a video production co, so I'm pretty comfortable using this software, but it might be a little overwhelming for a novice. Give it a shot...I think it has an easy "wizard" mode. Besides, it's free.

you can also host videos on video.google.com
When you upload your movie google will take car of getting the file down to size. You have to sign up, but it works well. I have a number of videos up on there right now.
here is one:

If you really want to compress video on you computer a good tool is cleaner 6, but it costs around $500 if a remember correctly. I use it all the time, but it may be more then you want to pay for casual usage.
