Not a bad decision!

Actually I did what Rich suggested first. I could not get it loose that way. I would not have done what I suggested if it were not for a commitment I had made. It's been a while back, I think I had promised to have the car in a parade. It sat all winter here in PA and as usual I was running behind getting everything ready. I had just detailed it and checked all the fluids. I got in pushed the clutch in and hit the key. It was in 1st gear and jumped toward the garage door. Of course I had to be where I was going in an hour! Anyway after some playing I figured it was the clutch disc being stuck. I got it started and warmed up and tried burping it at all different rpm levels. No luck. So my last ditch effort was to do what I described. In my case it was not bad at all, got lucky. Got it on the jack at idle and let it down. Still stuck. Jacked it back up, got it to about 1500rpm and let it down. Bingo. If it weren't for the parade, I would not have done it. I felt like I had to explain myself, because this not something I would normally do. Now when it sits, I not only start it periodically, I engage and disengage the clutch a couple times. No issue ever since! Good luck.
