Default Greetings from Merry Olde England

Hi guys.

I'm Alistair and I am working on a '69 Camaro with a friend as a kind of joint project (its his car though)

Its stock right now and he has a vision of a cool "G Machine" type ride which will be at home on the windy back roads around the UK.

His background is the kind of cars I guess you call imports here, and my back ground is more the drag racing and resto-mod type of build (I always drive American cars when I can - what you call a domestic is my import LOL)

I have (amongst other things) a 3rd Generation Trans Am so I might get a bit G machine on that...

his

Mine.

I also have a '68 Plymouth, '66 Buick too.

Thanks for lookin' in, expect many n00b type questions from me as we work on this!

My job has interactions with a company named MetaSwitch and 1 of their employees that I just recently started working with briefly is named Alistair and was wondering if you were the same person.

Wlecome.

What's it like to roll around the UK in a 69 Camaro? That car has to really stand out.

I've only driven it twice so far (other than just round the block or whatever). Reactions are ranging from a guy who about walked into a garden wall, someone who's mouth just fell right open like in a cartoon and a kid who screamed and did "rock fingers" at me.

I stopped at a "small town" gas station to fill up after I picked it up and a crowd formed, people taking photos, it was bizarre. I had to get a bit assertive to get the car out again.

I think that probably says more about British small towns than the Camaro!

It gets more attention than my Trans Am does, but I think thats because of the high impact orange paint (Trans Am is black) and the shiny chrome.

You certainly don't have any issues finding where you parked it. 249 silver Ford Focus - one screaming orange Camaro LOL

And what kid of reactions do you get from driving the Plymouth, the Buick or the T/A? I know the T/A doesn't stand out as much as the Camaro does, but it does stand out from the crowd.
